SICILIA COS VITTORIA PITHOS
Taste guide (E) Alc Vol 13.5%
Pithos' from COS displays the personality of the Frappato grape with its exuberant expression of violets and raspberry blossom. This blend of Frappato and Nero d'Avola is in the same idiom but with greater definition and vivid minerality. The natural wines of COS perfectly exemplify the quality of the region of Vittoria in southern Italy. The speciality of the region is Cerasuolo ("cherry"), a characteristic floral blend of Frappato (40%) and Nero d'Avola (60%). 'Serious Wine'
MARCHE CIU CIU GOTICO ROSSO PICENO SUPERIORE
Taste guide (D) Alc Vol 13.5%
This is a magnificent blend of Montepulciano and Sangiovese. Ciu Ciu are typically dense and meaty with a strong scent and full bodied structure. We begin with the vermilion rose perfumed Bacchus with its delightful nose of strawberry, morello cherry and liquorice root. This magnificent wine has an uncomplicated juiciness that begs for a second and third glass. It can even be merrily chilled.
MENDOZA NIETO RESERVA MERLOT
Taste guide (C) Alc Vol 12.5%
An excellent example of top quality Argentinian Merlot - intense and full bodied with vibrant cassis and plum flavours with a hint of herbaceous, minty freshness on the palate. Time spent in new French barriques adds mocha and vanilla notes to the wine, which delivers juicy fruit, supple tannins and a very long, rich finish. This silver medal winning wine is highly recommend. This winery fully deserves its icon status.
TURCKHEIM RESERVE GRAND CRU RIESLING
Taste guide (1) Alc Vol 12%
A classy dry white and typical of a fine Riesling - elegant pear and citrus fruit on the nose underpinned by pungent mineral and 'petrol' aromas (the classical perfumed & 'stoney' oil trademarks when this grape develops in bottle), which broadens and gets richer in the mouth yet the finish is crisp, steely and racy. Suggested foods. Serve with entrees and hors d'oeuvres with delicate flavours, fresh seafood such as crab or bream and even light pork dishes, particularly with a creamy sauce.
COTES DE NUITS GEVERY CHAMBERTIN ORGANIC
Taste guide (D) Alc Vol 13%
Philip Pacalet is renowned for making serious wine and this village has more Grand Crus than any other village. The Gevery Chambertin is from limestone-rich organically farmed vines and they are the oldest vines in France. This beauty is fresh fragrant and mineral with musky red and black fruits, the grape is Pinot Noir and we advise you to simply spoil yourself.
